Who we are

Huckleberry Roofing Ltd is the data controller for the personal information collected through this website. We are a company registered in England and Wales, company number 17033118, with our registered office at 208 Byerley Road, Shildon, County Durham, DL4 1HW. What we collect

When you use the enquiry form on this site we ask for your name, phone number, email address (optional), the type of work you are interested in and, if you choose to add it, a description of the problem. When you ring or email us we hold whatever you tell us about yourself and your property, which usually means your address, so that we can come and look at the roof.

We do not ask for, and do not want, payment card details through this website.

How we use it

• To ring or email you back about your enquiry and arrange an inspection.
• To prepare and send you a quote, and to carry out and invoice any work you ask us to do.
• To keep a record of work carried out at a property, including photographs of the roof, for guarantee purposes.
• To meet our legal and accounting obligations.

We do not use your details for marketing, we do not add you to a mailing list, and we do not sell or rent your information to anyone.

Our legal basis

Under UK GDPR we rely on two bases. Where you have asked us for a quote or booked work, processing is necessary for the contract between us, or to take steps at your request before entering into one. For keeping records after a job is finished, and for responding to general enquiries, we rely on our legitimate interests in running the business and honouring our guarantees, which we have balanced against your rights.

Who sees it

Enquiry form submissions are delivered to our email inbox by Web3Forms, a form-handling service, which processes the submission on our behalf and does not use it for any other purpose. Our email and accounting software providers may also hold copies of correspondence and invoices as part of providing those services to us. We may share your address and contact details with scaffolding or skip hire contractors where a job requires them. We do not share your information with anyone else unless the law requires it.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not lead to work are deleted within twelve months. Where we carry out work, we keep the quote, invoice, correspondence and job photographs for seven years, to meet accounting requirements and because our workmanship guarantee may still be running.

Cookies and analytics

This website does not set tracking cookies and does not run third-party analytics. The embedded Google Maps on our area pages are served by Google and may set cookies of their own; Google's privacy policy covers those.

Your rights

You have the right to ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, to have it corrected if it is wrong, to have it deleted where we no longer need it, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to receive it in a portable format. To use any of these rights, email info@huckleberryroofingltd.co.uk. We will respond within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113. We would rather you came to us first so we can try to put it right.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle personal information we will update this page and change the date at the top.
